After 34 years of membership, I am both honoured and delighted to have been selected to be Stoke Rochford Golf Club Captain for 2016.
During this year I will be holding many events to raise funds for my charity, the British Heart Foundation, which I hope our members and visitors will support. The first event, Captains Drive-in, will be a shotgun team event on Sunday the 6th March.
On behalf of the members, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome those visiting our website and planning to play at our club during the coming year. We are very proud of our golf course, which has been dubbed the hidden gem of Lincolnshire golf. With its rolling, free-draining fairways, very challenging greens it presents a golfing challenge to players of all abilities. We also have a number of areas with wild orchids and Cringle Brook with its trout and crayfish, it really is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Alongside all this, there is a warm and friendly welcome from the staff in the clubhouse and our well respected Professionals, led by Angus Dow, ensure that all visitors will have a memorable time.
Finally, I hope all of our members have a fantastic golfing season, I wish our new Team Captains success in their respective leagues and look forward to seeing you all, both on the course and at our social events.
Club Captain 2016.
I feel honoured to be Lady Captain at Stoke Rochford Golf Club for 2016.
I have been a member for over five years and even on the gloomiest of days there is always something to enjoy on this picturesque and well maintained golf course. Members and visitors alike always receive a warm welcome at our Pro shop and in our clubhouse.
My chosen Charity is Child Lung Foundation which helps children with rare lung diseases, some of which are life limiting.
The 2016 golf season starts with the Captains Drive In on 6th March when both the Captain and I will be hoping to raise money for our respective charities.
The ladies section is small and friendly, we have regular competitions, medals and roll ups as well as handicap league and ladies mixed and friendly matches.
We also have 2 Open Competitions per year, one on 4th June and one on 4th October.
Along with my committee I am looking forward to a good golfing year and I hope that everyone who plays at Stoke Rochford Golf Club has a great golfing experience.
