Holes 1 - 3
Hole 1 - Cottage Approach
413 yards Par 4
The first hole is probably one of the toughest on the course......and in the County !
The slope of the fairway will take most drives to the right leaving a difficult second to a raised and sloping green. Always good to walk off here with a 4 - most will accept a 5 !

Hole 2 - Chestnut Tree Tee
499 yards Par 5
A good drive here can set you up for a chance to reach the green in two. A drive missing the fairway however, will require some sensible play to reach the relatively small green in regulation. Pin placements on this long, narrow green make a lot of difference to the score you walk off with.
Hole 3 - Pheasant Spinney
169 yards Par 3
A good first par three. Depending on the wind direction, this can be anything from an 8 iron to a 3 or 4 iron shot. The mounds short right of the green often give a slightly mis-directed shot a kick left onto the green. Tight rough on the right of the green can leave a difficult "up and down". A large green can leave you with a long putt if you mis-club your tee shot.
