May I take this opportunity to introduce myself as Club Captain of Stoke Rochford for the 2020 year, please let me extend a very warm welcome to you all, I feel very proud and honoured to be asked to be Captain.
The course itself is an excellent parkland course very much enjoyed by our members and guests who have played. The 7th hole is one that tends to be remembered for the challenge & view, what has been significant this winter is how well the course has played with very few days lost to the wet weather which many clubs have experienced, the club clearly is delivering a great experience for all who play, which in our case is a great golf course, Friendly atmosphere & value for money.
Having the course so well presented would not be possible without all the hard work of our course manager Gareth Austin and his team.
Since joining SRGC some 35 years ago I have been a strong supporter of the club events whilst also representing the club for many years in the A&B teams, I do wish Jeff Purdy & Tom Greenfield all the best of luck as they once again embark on another South Lincs Golf League season as Scratch and Handicap League Captains.
I would also like to wish good luck to Mags McArthur as the new lady captain who I am very much looking forward to working with in the year ahead.
My two chosen charities for 2020 are St Barnabas & Marie Curie who gave fantastic support to my family in the last couple of years.
Finally to all members and guest enjoy SRGC in 2020 good luck with your golf, don’t forget to come along to the draw nights which are held on the first Friday of every month starting in April , it would be great to see you all attending.
Club Captain 2020
I am very proud to be representing Stoke Rochford Golf Club as Lady Captain for 2020.
I didn’t start playing golf until 2006, a very late starter in life to be playing golf. I started off in a lovely 9 hole golf club and enjoyed it immensely. Both my husband and I joined Stoke Rochford in 2015, and to this day never looked back.
Our ladies section , even though small, has a busy year ahead in playing many club competitions, also alongside our mens, juniors and mixed section. I look forward to welcoming new ladies members to our section, our ladies day is every Wednesday.
My Chosen charity for 2020 is Diabetes UK, a charity very close to my heart, with helping both my parents and my brother. Diabetes can change your life forever, and I hope that what is raised for this charity will help further research.
I look forward to working alongside James Footitt, our mens Club Captain, in the year ahead. We have many social events planned throughout the coming year.
Finally I wish to thank the ladies committee and the ladies section for their continuing support.
I would like to wish everyone a very successful and healthy year of golf in 2020.
