Captains Welcome 2021

Firstly, may I take this opportunity to introduce myself as Club Captain for 2021, please let me extend a very warm welcome to you all.

I feel very proud and honoured to be asked to represent this club as Captain, which continues to develop its' reputation as one of the finest golf courses in the area for members, guests & visitors to come and play.

Secondly, I do hope you & your families are well considering the significant challenges we all have experienced in recent months. I am sure like me you are all looking forward to playing and enjoying your golf this year.

To Darrell Knight - thank you for agreeing to be my Vice-Captain for the coming year, I am looking forward to working with you throughout 2021.

I would like to wish our Lady Captain Mags McArthur, Seniors Captain Michael Thornton, Junior Captain Matt Brewill and all the Team Captains a successful year, can I ask all members to give them their full support on and off the course.

The course itself is an excellent parkland course, very much enjoyed by our members and guests throughout the summer and winter seasons. All this would not be possible without the hard work of our course manager Gareth Austin and his team.

There is always a warm welcome at the club from the Pro Shop and our resident professional James Bennett & his staff who are always on hand to provide assistance, Clubhouse wise Cris & Lis will look forward to taking care of you with a great selection of food & drink.

My two chosen charities for 2021 are St Barnabas & Marie Curie, both have offered incredible support to our family in recent times.

Finally , to all enjoy your golf , good luck and play well.

James Footitt

Club Captain 2021

I am very proud to be representing Stoke Rochford Golf Club as Lady Captain for 2021.

I didn’t start playing until 2006, a very late starter in life to be playing golf. I started off on a lovely 9 hole golf club and enjoyed it immensely. Both my husband and I joined Stoke Rochford in 2015 and to this day never looked back. Our Ladies Section, even though small, has a busy year ahead in playing many club competitions, also alongside our men’s, juniors and mixed section. I look forward to welcoming new lady members to our section, our Ladies day is every Wednesday.

To Jane White thank you for being my Lady Vice-Captain for the next coming year. I am looking forward to working with you throughout 2021

I look forward to working alongside James Footitt, our men’s Club Captain, in the year ahead.  Finally I wish to thank the Ladies Committee and the Ladies section for their continuing support.

My chosen charity for 2021 is Diabetes UK, a charity very close to my heart, with helping both my parents and my brother. Diabetes can change your life forever, and I hope that what is raised for this charity will help further research.

I would like to wish everyone a very successful and healthy year of golf in 2021.

Lady Captain

Mags McArthur
