Firstly, may I introduce myself as Club Captain for 2022, please let me extend a very warm welcome to you all.
It is an honour and privilege to have been asked to represent this club as Captain, a club that is continually growing, moving forward with modern golfing methods, and enhancing our reputation as one of the finest golf clubs in the area for our members, guests, and visitors to come and play.
As we move into a new era following the challenges that have come our way, the future is bright at our club and I’m sure you look forward to the new golfing year as I do.
I would like to thank Gareth Tamblyn-Jones for agreeing to be my Vice-Captain for the coming year, together we will work hard.
I would also like to wish our Lady Captain Jane White, Seniors Captain John Hitchman and Junior Captain Hattie Dow and all the team captains a successful year, please give them your support both on and off the course.
My chosen charity for this year is Prostate Cancer, a charity that I have supported for over 15 years. A charity that has supported my family members and several club members over the years and I believe they continue to do outstanding work.
I would like to thank the Management Board, Pro Shop staff, catering staff and greenkeeping staff for their continued support throughout the year and wish everyone who comes to Stoke Rochford the very best golfing luck and have a great year both on and off the course.
Club Captain 2022
I am very honoured to be Lady Captain for Stoke Rochford Golf Club, and I am looking forward to helping the Ladies section thrive in 2022.
It has been a great pleasure to have been Mags McArthur’s vice captain for the past two years, and I wish her all the best for the future.
I didn’t start playing golf until 2004, playing only 9 holes at Belton Woods just with friends. I played for a few years, then I went to live in Spain. When I returned home to live, I met my husband Brian White who encouraged me to join Stoke Rochford GC in 2013 and to this day I have never looked back.
As some members know I am profoundly deaf, when I joined I had very little confidence, and I would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported me personally.
My chosen charity is the Disabled Golf Association, of which I am a trustee. The charity supports people with all disabilities to access the sport and helps provide the opportunity to stay fit and healthy.
I would like to thank the club, committee and green staff who work hard to make our club great and ensure we can play the sport we love.
I am looking forward to working alongside Darrell Knight throughout 2022 and representing the club this year.
I wish all members an enjoyable year of golf.
