Tuesday Winter Series Open Rollup #3 Results
Sixty four Visitors & Members played in the 3rd round of SRGC's Tuesday Winter Series Open Rollups. Each round sees 5 prize vouchers awarded totalling £200 to be spent in our Pro Shop and all players accumulate points towards an Order of Merit where the Champion is the player with the best 4 scores from up to 5 rounds wins another Pro Shop voucher for £125.
Winner today was Oliver Towning from Peterborough Milton GC with a score of 41 points.
Order of Merit leader after 3 rounds is Brian Guerin from Rushcliffe GC with 39 points.
After the 2nd round we did notice that a player registered with England Golf as an Independent Golfer (not affiliated to any recognised Club) had played and won a voucher. When the Independent Golfer initiative was launched in mid 2021 SRGC decided that they would, for the time being, be ineligible to win vouchers in our competitions. For most Opens we would identify this issue when players register but this is not so easy for rollup Opens. As we hadn't informed the player before starting his round in December we decided to honour the voucher he won and whilst all Independent Golfers are very welcome to play in future SRGC Opens and continue to have their handicaps adjusted on WHS they will not be eligible to win a prize voucher.
The 4th round is on Tuesday 22nd February, we look forward to seeing many of you again.
Winter League Round #5 Results & Order of Merit
A weekend of excellent weather for most players but the course remains challenging due to the sticky lies and putting surfaces that require firmly struck putts to keep the ball on line. One pair returned an amazing score of 44 points in the Greensomes Stableford, 5 points clear of the rest of the field, congratulations to Simon Hudson & Mark Swatton.
Winners & Prize Distribution :-
Latest Order of Merit table after 5 rounds including one in which no points were awarded due to the foggy conditions preventing play for many pairs. Note that the competition will still use the best 5 round scores assuming no more rounds are lost for any reason.
Cris and Lis are looking forward to seeing you at the Clubhouse on Saturday 12th February to celebrate Valentine’s Day with loved ones, friends and family. Open to all Members please book menu choices with the clubhouse staff.

Winter League Round #4 Results
37 teams entered Round #4, a Texas Scramble. Apologies that the competition was incorrectly called Stableford when it should have been set up as a Medal. Having checked the cards and confirmed no pairs recorded a 0 point score on any holes we amended the format to be Medal expecting each team's handicap to then include 1 decimal place as happened under CONGU rules and also WHS rules for a 4 person team. However all team handicaps remained as whole numbers, I'm checking with Club Systems whether this is an error in their software or is actually correct for the Pairs Texas Scramble Medal format.
Also, some questions were raised about the 18th green being out of play for those that played oin Saturday. This is covered in the rules of the competion in our Competitions Handbook on the website. The Greens Staff make every effort to ensure the course does not change between the Friday, Saturday & Sunday rounds but when a change has to be made to a tee or pin position on 1 or more days this is "rub of the green" similar to a significant weather change over the 3 day period and the competition remains valid.
Continuing with various issues from this weekend, some pairs were not debited the entry fee when they were signed in, this is being investigated but in the meantime those players will be debited manually.
Winners & Prize Distribution :-
Latest aggregate standings after 4 rounds can be seen here, note that as round #3 was abandoned in terms of accumulating points the 8 KO pairs will be determined from the best 5 from 7 rounds. If another round is lost this will become best 4 from 6 etc.
3 Day New Year Stableford Results
We had 112 players competing on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday with Robert Clifton claiming the Overall, Best Gross & Division 1 honours, a very rare achievement.
