MDJ Salver Results
Ninety six players entered the MDJ Salver, a Stableford open to Ladies & Gents and normally played much earlier in the season but postponed in 2020 due to COVID-19. The weather continues to be unseasonally windy & wet so CSS went up to 72 for Gents but remained at 72 for Ladies.
Tom Younghusband was the clear winner with a superb 42 points, this included a pitch in for eagle on 16 and demonstrated his recent form in club knockout competitions and this one earned him an extra 2 shot reduction on top of the 2.4 shots he lost for his score. Gareth Jones also earned an Exceptional Scoring Reduction for his run of good scores recently.

Tuesday Open Rollup Series #3 Results
Sixty four players braved pretty horrendous conditions with heavy rain in the morning & high winds throughout the day with the CSS for both Members & Visitors increasing by 3 up to 74.

- 2nd place nett : Jason Grifiths (Mapperley GC) 37 points playing off 20

- 5th place nett : Stephen Ireland (Scraptoft GC) 34 points (back 9 c/b) playing off 15
The latest Order of Merit results can be seen here, this year as the series is shortened to just 4 events, the best 3 scores from 4 will count. The final event is scheduled for Tuesday 22nd September, we look forward to seeing you there.

Wright & Roberts Cups Results
A blustery day but dry apart from a brief period during the afternoon, 91 players competed for the Wright (0-15 h'cap) & Roberts Cups (> 15 h'cap). Josh Green may have lost the overall winner position on a back 9 countback but he earned himself an Exceptional Scoring Reduction for his recent good performances, this takes Josh down to 22.7, a 5 shot reduction since we restarted QCs at the end of June.

It's obvious looking at the numbers entered for each cup that we need to rebalance the split of handicaps, so in 2021 this revert to the standard 0-12 & 13-54 levels.
The 2s club was shared by 8 players.
Two more trophy competitions next weekend with the MDJ Salver (Stableford) on Saturday and the Bob Cullington Memorial (Medal) on Sunday.
On Bank Holiday Monday we have the Mixed Fourball Open, there are a small number of places available for what is a very popular event, Craig & Penny Hallam will be defending the title they've won for the last 2 years, can anyone beat them?
Don't forget about entering the Brashaw, Carvath & Collingwood Cups in the Pro shop! Saturday Stableford Results
Cooler weather with the odd shower produced some more great scores on Saturday. Dan Cresswell stopped playing golf for 13 years with family & work commitments and has recently started playing again. His score of 44 points confirmed he needed a substantial reduction with a total 6 shot reduction including an Exceptional Scoring Reduction and a General Play reduction.
