Coronation Cup Results

A poor weather forecast reduced the field size for the Coronation Cup on Sunday and steady rain fell as the earlier starters went out and then some heavy showers as the later players were coming home. One outstanding score was posted, Adam Footitt finishing with +4, four gross birdies and a single bogey.

The 2s club, entered by 32 players, was definitely worth winning, as only one 2 was recorded!!

Two competitions next weekend, a Medal on Saturday and a Stableford on Sunday, very few chances remaining now to get your handicap where you want it to be for the winter competitions with just one Sunday QC after that on 13/10. Note also that a series of 4 Winter Stablefords have been set up in the diary November - February, these are Mixed non qualifying competitions, played on either Saturday or Sunday, with 2 Divisions and prizes distributed by the usual percentages directly into your competition wallet. Winning 1 or 2 of these will make a substantial dent in your 2020 subscription!!

Guest Speaker Night with Frank Clark

A Great evening for your Diary!
A Night with Guest Speaker Frank Clark, Ex Newcastle United & Nottingham Forest player.
He started his professional career at Newcastle United, and played between 1962 and 1975.He was part of Newcastle's 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup Final 6-2 aggregate win against Újpesti Dózsa.[3]
He signed for Brian Clough at Nottingham Forest on a free transfer in July 1975. He was an ever-present in the next two league campaigns culminating in 1977 promotion to the top flight. In their first season back up Forest won the 1977-78 Football League and the 1978 Football League Cup Final. His last competitive game playing football was beating Malmö FF 1-0 in the 1979 European Cup Final.
