Match Updates

The Social team played a friendly match against Sutton Bridge at home on Saturday 30th April in glorious spring sunshine with SRGC securing a 5-1 victory. Don't worry Eddie and Stuart we won't mention who you lost to.

The team enjoyed a great breakfast prepared by Kris and his team before the match.

There are a few further fixtures throughout the season and any members interested in playing should contact team captain Jason Rutherford.

On Sunday 1st May the Juniors played the first round of the national knockout competition drawn at home to Greetham Valley, who had progressed to the later stages of last year's competition.

Format was 2 pairs of betterball match play with the result decided on aggregate score, both matches play the full 18 holes.

First pair was Hattie Dow and Jake Gibbons who battled hard against an onslaught of Greetham net birdies on the back nine to limit the damage to a creditable 1 down score.

Second pair was vice captain Jack Rawson and Joshua Green who worked well as a team to be 2 up after 14 holes, but knowing the overall score was very tight they pushed on to win the last 4 holes to secure a 6 up margin, resulting in the overall score being a 5 up victory for SRGC.

Very well done to the team, and good luck for the next round.
