The 2s club is run across both competitions on the day and for the 2nd day running only 2 players managed the feat, so that was well worth winning at £30.50 each.

Brashaw Cup Results

Fourteen family pairings competed for the Brashaw Cup, a Greensomes Stableford and the various members of the Green families (no relation to myself) brushed aside the rest of the field with some incredible scoring.

Winners & Prize Distribution :-

Andrew & 9 year old Owen, receiving 25 shots, led the way with 49 points, not far behind with 46 points was Gavin & 14 year old Josh who received 14 shots and in 3rd place receiving 18 shots and scoring 42 points (just beating Ben & Jack Rawson on countback) was Simon & 11 year old Alfie. Some future stars emerging perhaps?

Ladies Autumn Am-Am Open Results

On a very blustery day that threatened a significant amount of rain 31 teams played in the Ladies Autumn Am-Am Open. As the first players were finishing at about 13:30 the rain came with the final group just starting their round, luckily after just over an hour of heavy showers the rain disappeared for the rest of the day although the very strong winds and cool temperatures continued to cause problems for many teams.

Winning teams & scores :-

  • 1st nett  :  Deborah Wastling, May Burn, Sally Palmer & Diane Aloia (all Brampton Park GC)  82 points
  • 2nd nett  :  Mandy Horne, Lynda Ramscar, Gail Powell & Kremena Saunders (all Blankney GC)  77 points
  • 3rd nett  :  Pam Watson, Pauline Haggerty, Dorne Werner (all SRGC) & Shirley King (Belton Woods GC)  75 points
  • 4th nett  :  Dawn French, Jane Hector (both John O'Gaunt GC), Alison Oakley (Aspley Guise & Woburn Sands Golf Club) & Joy Stepney (Belton Park GC)  74 points

Judging by the many comments received after finishing their rounds all teams seemed to have a great day despite the difficult conditions and we look forward to seeing you again soon. The organising committee would like to thank our excellent Greens Staff led by Gareth Austin for preparing the course in such good condition, James Bennett and his staff in the Pro Shop for their support throughout the day, Cris, Lis & their staff for their hard work in preparing and serving food and also to Viv at the Halfway House for her excellent support.

Saturday Stableford Results

Some very poor conditions were braved by 55 players on Saturday but still some very good scores were returned. Congratulations to Owen Green on winning Division 2, his first win at SRGC at the age of 9.

May I remind all players that it's an R&A rule that you should return your scorecard after every round regardless of the score, it's also a Club rule that you should ensure your scores are entered onto the computer system either by doing it yourself from phone, laptop or the PSIs in the Clubhouse or Pro Shop, or by politely asking the Pro Shop staff to do it for you.
