Jubilee Shotgun Start Competitions Results

A fabulous day organised by our Captain Darrell Knight, where two separate Shotgun Start competitions were played with a BBQ available to all players on their return to the Clubhouse courtesy of SRGC and the very hard work of Cris, Lis & their staff. The day certainly started with a BANG as JB and his staff had organised a pretty large firework to kick start each event, I'm told he has a few more hidden away so we can look forward to hearing them at future shotgun start events.

The course prepared by Gareth Austin and his great team was in probably the best condition we've ever enjoyed at SRGC, thank you to them for all their hard work, and thank you also to the SRGC Ladies for providing the lovely Jubilee Ribbons on each flagstick.

The two separate events produced remarkably similar scores and prize vouchers were split equally between each event.

Next weekend is the Gents Club Championships, a 36 hole Medal played across two days, entries close Thursday lunchtime. Start times are allocated for Saturday based on reverse handicap order but if anyone has a special reason to wish to play earlier or later due to a prior commitment please let me know asap and not after the draw is made and published.

Pheasant Cup Results

Eight one entries for the Pheasant Cup played in conditions varying from pretty cool in the wind and shade to balmy in the sunny shaded areas, the wind affecting many players games. Very unusually there were 6 x nett 68 scores recorded, 3 in each division so countback were needed to determine the divisional & overall winners. Neil Harvey (D1) just pipped Gary Bell (D2) for the overall winner voucher.
