May I take this opportunity to introduce myself as Club Captain of Stoke Rochford for the 2020 year, please let me extend a very warm welcome to you all, I feel very proud and honoured to be asked to be Captain.

My introduction cannot happen without firstly thanking our immediate past captain Simon Mulvey for the wonderful service he gave during his year in office, I would also like to thank Simon for asking me to be his vice Captain.

My second thanks goes to Darrell Knight for agreeing to be my vice-captain for the coming year and I am looking forward to working with him throughout 2020..

The course itself is an excellent parkland course very much enjoyed by our members and guests who have played. The 7th hole is one that tends to be remembered for the challenge & view, what has been significant this winter is how well the course has played with very few days lost to the wet weather which many clubs have experienced, the club clearly is delivering a great experience for all who play, which in our case is a great golf course, Friendly atmosphere & value for money.

Having the course so well presented would not be possible without all the hard work of our course manager Gareth Austin and his team.

Since joining SRGC some 35 years ago I have been a strong supporter of the club events whilst also representing the club for many years in the A&B teams, I do wish Jeff Purdy & Tom Greenfield all the best of luck as they once again embark on another South Lincs Golf League season as Scratch and Handicap League Captains.

I would also like to wish good luck to Mags McArthur as the new lady captain who I am very much looking forward to working with in the year ahead.

We are also very fortunate to have an excellent seniors section at SRGC who will be ably led by Mike Thornton as the seniors captain for the year...

There is always a warm welcome from the Pro Shop and our resident professional James Bennett & his staff are always on hand to provide assistance and support.

To Chris & Lis who have recently taking over the Clubhouse, they have done a fantastic job in their first few months, their warm & friendly manner is much appreciated

My two chosen charities for 2020 are St Barnabas & Marie Curie who gave fantastic support to my family in the last couple of years.

Finally to all members and guest enjoy SRGC in 2020 good luck with your golf, don’t forget to come along to the draw nights which are held on the first Friday of every month starting in April , it would be great to see you all attending.
