Some changes were necessary after reviewing the cards although none affected the prize winners mentioned below.
Only 46 players entered the Juy Saturday Medal but some excellent scores were returned in any case in the warm, fast conditions with just a light breeze. A total of 31 birdies were recorded including 7 x 2s.
Excellent play from Gareth Jones who, off a handicap of 11, had 4 birdies including 3 on the front 9 where he had a gross score of 34 with 5 x 3s, stunning golf and even with a double bogey on 16 you still managed a very creditable score of 40 on the back 9 for a magnificent 74-11 = 63 nett. That gross score actually tied with Ian Braime for the lowest gross of the day, so Gareth takes the nett prize with Ian taking best gross. Very close behind with a nett 65 was Eddie Oswin, and Rob Newham with nett 66 came in 3rd place on a back 9 countback from Mick Abbott & Mark Bailey.
1st place nett : Gareth Jones 74 - 11 = 63
2nd place nett : Eddie Oswin 77 - 12 = 65
3rd place nett : Rob Newham 89 - 23 = 66 (back 9 c/b)
Best gross : Ian Braime 74
