LADIES PAST CAPTAINS SATURDAY 11th AUGUST 2018
The Past Lady Captains had glorious weather for their annual competition and this year there were an amazing 27 years worth of Past Captains who came back to Stoke Rochford for the day. Three of the Captains who are currently not playing golf came round the course in support or simply joined everyone for the post competition meal in the clubhouse. The remaining ladies once again played some excellent golf with Sue Taylor coming out on top with a fantastic 43 points, 2nd was Sheila Dugmore with 40 points and 3rd with 39 points was Norma Varley. The Best Gross for the day was Denise Parker with 36 points. The good golf continues here at Stoke Rochford with the top 4 ladies in the competition achieving handicap reductions.
GIBSON CUP WEDNESDAY 8th AUGUST 2018
The Greensomes Stablefors competition for the Gibson Cup was played in lovely summer sunshine. The winners with a great 40 points were Marion Carvath & Jane White and runners-up with 38 points were Lady Captain Pam Watson & Judy Rawson.
ALTERNATIVE TROPHY SUNDAY 5TH AUGUST 2018
The Alternative Trophy for the ladies not playing in the Club Championships was won this year by Avis Griffin with 38 points and in 2nd place was Phillippa Smith with 36 points
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS SUNDAY 5th AUGUST 2018
The Ladies Club Championships was played over 36 holes and despite the soaring temperatures produced some fantastic golf. The results were as follows - Best AM Nett was Chris Rowley with 71, best PM Nett was Dorne Werner with 75, 2nd Nett overall was Sheila Dugmore with 137 and second Gross overall was Sue Booth with168. The winner of the overall Best Nett Trophy was 12 year old Hattie Dow with an amazing total of 134 resulting yet another big handicap reduction. The star of the day winning the 2018 Club Championship Trophy was Lady Captain Pam Watson with a Gross total of 156.
LADY CAPTAINS EXCHANGE DAY WEDNESDAY 1st AUGUST 2018
It was back to the lovely sunshine as the ladies travelled to Wollaton Park Golf Club for Lady Captain Pam's Exchange Day. Despite it being very hot the ladies had a great day out and played some good golf too! This years winner of the Painters Pot (away day trophy) and the Captains gift was Sheila Dugmore with an excellent 42 points. Lady Captain Pam Watson took 2nd place beating Jackie Witten in 3rd place on a back 9 countback - both with 38 points. Everyone enjoyed the post competition meal in the clubhouse - an added bonus were the chocolates with coffee that had very kindly been left for the Stoke Rochford Ladies by Wollaton Park's Lady Captain. A great day was had by all and Vice Captain Karen Rawson presented Pam with a thank you gift from the ladies.
