AUTUMN OPEN AM/AM TUESDAY 1ST OCTOBER 2019
Stoke Rochford Golf Club lived up to its reputation this week for being a beautiful, challenging course that is playable all year round even in the worst weather conditions. The ladies hosted their Autumn Open on Tuesday1st October and in atrocious conditions Ladies from 24 clubs around the country travelled to play in the AM/AM competition. The final scores on the day attested to the players fortitude and the course playability. In 1st place with 78 points OCB were Sue Brown, Helen Bradshaw, Sue Simpson (Sleaford) and Chris Bishop (Kenwick Park), in 2nd place also with 78 points were Jane Houghton, Lynda Fitches, Joan Mitford and Sally Harrington (all Rutland Water). In 3rd place were Mary Hubbard, Christine King, Jane Jackson, and Debbie Foster (Bourn) with 77 points OCB from Margaret Yelland (Lincoln), Jackie Friend, Diedre Ginnity and Lesley Young (Greetham Valley) with 77 points taking 4th. Lady Captain Karen Rawson was extremely grateful to all of the Ladies who bought raffle tickets on the day raising £200 for her chosen charity this year Transverse Mylitis.
FEMININE FIASCO SATURDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER 2019
On Saturday 28th in blustery winds but managing to dodge most of the showers, the Stoke Rochford Ladies played in the Feminine Fiasco which celebrates and thanks all of the members who have represented The Club by playing in the League and friendly matches throughout the season. The popular format for the golf, chosen by Lady Captain Karen was a Waltzer which was won by Pam Watson, Avis Griffin, Sheila Dugmore and Jane White with an excellent score of 81 points. The golf was followed by a lovely meal in the clubhouse and then a Dingbats quiz won by Chris Rowley, Hattie Dow, Joan Lennard and Jackie Witten and a general quiz won by Mags McArthur, Sue Booth, Norma Varley and Lynn Ewart. The final competition of the day which generated much hilarity was carpet bowls which saw Pauline Haggerty and Roni Proctor the final winners.
BRING & WIN SATURDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER 2019
On Saturday 21st with the return of the summer sunshine, the ladies played in their Bring & Win Competition. The winner with 37 points and taking first choice from the prize table was Dorne Werner, second was Jean Hough with 33 points (OCB) from Jane White in third also with 33 points.
WEDNESDAY MEDAL 18TH SEPTEMBER 2019
On Wednesday 18th the second monthly medal was won by Jackie Witten 96-22-74, second was Sue Booth 86-11-75 and third was Elaine Kirby 91-23-76.
INNOCENT VASE SATURDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 2019
On Saturday 14th September playing in a bogey competition for the Innocent Vase, Sheila Dugmore achieved an excellent score of +2 to take first place, second with a level score was Sue Booth and third was Pam Watson with -4.
