On Saturday 1st June in lovely warm, sunny weather Stoke Rochford Ladies held their 2nd open of the season which saw players from 14 different clubs take part in the morning medal and afternoon foursomes competitions. The course was in fantastic condition, beautiful as always at this time of year and its playability with green fairways and fast greens enabled good golf and excellent scores - all of the morning winners, even with a reduced CSS achieving level par or better. In first place and winner of the Turnor Trophy was 17 year old Laura Harvey (Stoke Rochford ) with a fantastic score of 92-26-66 and the best gross of the day was achieved by Helen Lowe (Scraptoft) with an amazing 68 (68-1-67) which equals the existing course record. The second nett prize went to Pauline Haggerty (Stoke Rochford) 83-14-69, third was Hattie Dow (Stoke Rochford) 83-12-71, fourth was Stephanie Cook (Burghley Park) 94-23-71 and fifth was Sally Burton (Toft) 92-21-71. The afternoon 16 hole Foursomes competition saw Pam Watson & Sue Booth (Stoke Rochford) win with 35 points, Cathy Lee & Linda Moss(Toft) in second place with 33 points and Laura Harvey & Hattie Dow (Stoke Rochford) in third place with 32 points.
