Handicap League v Woodhall Spa B
The Stoke Ladies kicked off their handicap league season with a home match against Woodhall Spa B team on Wednesday 20th April. The match was played in glorious spring sunshine.
The matches are played in pairs better ball format, with the playing pairings determined by handicap order lowest to highest as per the league rules. There are 4 pairing selected for each match.
Stoke got off to a great start winning the first two matches, but unforetunately couldn't get over the line in the last two matches resulting in a 2-2 Draw.

Lara Manton and Chris Rowley Won 3&2
Dorne Werner and Pauline Haggerty Lost 3&2
Karen Rawson and Avis Griffin Lost 1 Down
Next up is an away trip to Blankney.
Annodata Matchplay 2022
Stoke Rochford Ladies entered the national Annodata knockout matchplay competion for 2022. This consists of 5 singles matches played off handicap.
Stoke had a tricky away draw at Toft which was played on Thursday 14th April in lovely warm sunny weather.
Hattie Dow got the team off to a flying start with a 6&4 demolition of her opponent. Also victorious was Lara Manton who secured a 1up victory with a half on the 18th.
Pauline Haggerty (2&1), Karen Rawson (1 down), and Debra Wright (2&1), all battled hard but unforetunately suffered narrow defeats.
So the final result was a narrow 3-2 defeat.
Well done ladies on a hard fought contest, better luck next year when surely a home draw is overdue.
