What a wonderful day we all had, the sun shone, the food was lovely, the company great and some even played good golf!!! Without exception the highlight of the day for us all was being able to meet Lady Captain Roseanne's two granddaughters, Olivia and particularly the star of the show, Sienna.
This year the Lady Captain has chosen Child Lung Foundation (Childrens Interstitial Lung Disease) as her charity as sadly 3 year old Sienna has been a sufferer since birth and has already won several life threatening battles. Despite her struggles she joined us for the whole day and delighted us all by giving out the prizes.
The competition for the ladies was a qualifying stableford with prizes given in 2 divisions, nearest the pin on holes 7 & 17, a putting competition and last but not least a prize for the best decorated visor in CHILD charity colours. Lady Captain Roseanne also ran a mens competition throughout the day with all proceeds going towards her fundraising efforts.
The results were as follows:-
1st Roni Proctor 33 points
2nd Jane Selby 33 points (ocb)
3rd Jean Hough 31 points
1st Pam Watson 39 points
2nd Sue Booth 35 points
3rd Chris Rowley 33 points
NEAREST THE PINS:-
Hole 7 June Miller
Hole 17 Mags McArthur
Club Captain Jeff Purdy
Best visor judged by Sienna was Dorne Werner
The proceeds from the raffle, men's competition and donations totalled in excess of £700 all of which will go towards Roseanne's year long fundraising efforts for CHILD.
