Over 100 players entered the Saturday Stableford in the continuing cold winds and extremely dry conditions that are causing problems for our Greens staff and Members alike. We can all see that the top surface of the greens is very dry but a couple of inches down the soil is still quite damp after the long winter, Gareth is unwilling to put significant water on the greens due to the continuing very cold nights with frequent early morning frosts, he is the expert and we fully trust his advice on how best to keep our course in the condition to ensure a great summer once the warmer weather arrives and we start to see some real growth.

I continue to see a small number of Members put their card in the box without ensuring their scores are entered on the system, this causes significant extra effort for the person closing the competition. The notice on top of the box explains that anyone who has a problem entering scores themselves using the MSI on their phone, tablet, laptop or PC can politely ask the Pro Shop staff to enter the scores for you. Please follow that process to minimise the workload of the volunteers who give up a lot of their own time to run competitions for your benefit.
Next Sunday is the President's Shield, a Par-Bogey and on Bank Holiday Monday a Mixed Individual Stableford.
There are a few places available in the Spring Open AM Medal, and also in the Spring Open PM Greensomes, you don't have to play in both events, go to our BRS Opens page to reserve your slot.
