Stoke Rochford Golf Club has an established and very popular men’s seniors section providing year long golf for over 55 year olds. About 80 members participate in seniors golf to a larger or lesser extent at some time during the year. Seniors hold their AGM and elect their Captain and committee which organise the section, the next is Wednesday 19th January 2022.
Annually the seniors section play up to twenty five inter club matches against quality opponents. Additionally during the summer they play individual competitions, charity events together with singles and pairs knockouts.
Each Wednesday during the winter months up to sixty seniors meet to play a variety of team and novelty competitions. The seniors pairs winter league is keenly contested.
Seniors organise and host a singles Open in May, a pairs Open in July and an Invitation Open in August. Each year the Seniors Captain organises an away day for members.
Many newcomers joining the section as new club members, recently retired or just having moved to the area have found the section a wonderful way to make new friends and guarantee regular weekday golf. Joining the section is a first class means of quickly becoming integrated into the club.
Seniors section takes every opportunity to celebrate their landmarks having had special days for the 20th, 25th and 30th anniversaries of their first match, their 500th and 800th matches and during 2021 will celebrate their 1000th match.
All seniors activities are well advertised on the seniors notice board in the gents locker room and on the regularly updated dedicated pages of this website.
